Schedule & Level Description 2027

Trail-finder level

You are now beginning to build your own path, seeking out new and innovative movement and stylings.

This event will not be oriented towards moves, variations and instructor-led musicality. Instead, classes will more likely focus on flow, musical connection, and developing your own individual style. Partner conversation is likely to include tools to help leads to listen and be inspired by the follow, and to help follows find their voice as an active partner in the dance.

You will …

  • dance a wide range of moves and shapes confidently to tracks above 220bpm with care and attention to your partner
  • demonstrate a range of moves including throw outs from many different positions, out and ins, lollies, swivels, pop-turns, etc
  • have a clear understanding of partnering skills required
  • use “stretch & release” (not arms) for lead/follow connection
  • be actively honing your own basics, and enhancing your partnering technique, for better flow and connection at all tempos
  • be developing your own style
  • be likely to have at least 3 years plus Balboa experience
